Railway [RRB] Exam

Understanding the Railway Sector:-

RRB is an organization whose main objective is to recruit and make available the right kind of manpower at the right time to the different units of the Railways as per their requirements. In all, there are 19 RRBs, which cater to the respective zonal staffing requirements. RRBs recruit personnel for different Zonal Railways/Production Units. Based on the Indents received, Employment Notifications are released in Employment News (A publication of the Government of India) and Indicative advertisements in other News Papers. RRB functions under overall supervision of the Railway Recruitment Control Board, Railway Board (Ministry of Railways), New Delhi. The RRCB formulates policy guidelines and also evaluates / monitors the working of RRBs. The largest civilian employer in the world, the Indian railways employ nearly 1.5 million people. A career with the railways is both secure and rewarding as this is a recession proof sector with excellent growth prospects.
The Indian Railways have been divided into several zones for the purpose of administration. There are several divisions and departments under each zone. Each division has a certain number of technical and non-technical departments.Group C and Group D employees are recruited by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). There are 19 RRBs and they are entrusted with the duty of recruiting the required number of staffs for each zone. All Indian citizens having the specified qualification can apply for RRB examinations regardless of his/her language and region.

Eligibility Criteria: The Railway Exam Eligibility followed by RRB for Non Technical and Technical examination detailed below:-

Non Technical Eligibility-

Age Limitation- Aspirants who apply for Non Technical Railway exam should have age between 18-33 years. Relaxation in upper age for special category aspirants would be extended as per government standard.

Qualification- Applicants who willing apply for non technical Railway exam should have degree from recognized board/Institute/University. Aspirants must have typing skills in English/Hindi on Computer/Typewriter.

Technical Eligibility-

Age Limitation- Aspirants who apply for Technical Railway exam should have age between 18-30 years. For SC/ST candidates 5 years relaxation in age and for OBC candidates 3 years relaxation in age is provided.

Qualification- Applicants who interested apply for technical Railway exam should have Pass in 1st year B.Sc (Physics), 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics and ITI (Industrial Training Institutes) in Computer Networking/Data Networking/ Electrician. Applicants with other education may also apply for railway exams.

Nationality: A candidate (Appearing for Technical or Non-Technical) must be either a citizen of India or one holding eligibility certificates issued by the Government of India.
